if you are a protestant don't answer- if you have no idea idea of what the trisagnion prayer is your not Orthodox.

they have free will like all but it is likely they would prefer them to marry within as they are family and culture oriented.

pls just marry whoever you fall inlove with. i hate when something as imaginary as religion gets in the way of LOVE. ugh.

It is discouraged. The Orthodox Church will not perform a wedding where either partner is not a Christian; how can the sacraments entrusted to the church be given to unbelievers? That means an Orthodox Christian who marries a non-Christian is married outside the church, and has excommunicated himself.

The Church will marry an Orthodox Christian and a baptized Trinitarian Christian, whether Roman Catholic or Protestant.
