Why Do Orthodox Eastern Churches Call to the Roman Catholics a Heretic Church?

by Generous Orthodoxy on February 23, 2012

just because they are separated of them? well I would like to know that, because I was reading a website and a book about orthodox church and they say categorize the roman catholicism as a heretic church, so I think we can't be one church if these ideas are part of the orthodox churches

I don’t know why as well. I was also surprised when I read comments from Orthodox Christians against the Roman Catholics. Roman Catholics and Orthodoxy split from each other so both started at the same time. I was surprised at first to see how the Orthodox states that Roman Catholics are protestants/heretics when I don’t hear Roman Catholics say that about them.

Because they do not like the fact that when we Catholics say the Nicene Creed, we say that the Holy Spirit “Proceeds from the Father and the Son.” They believe we should only say “From the Father.”

Because of the beliefs they introduced after they separated from the Orthodox Church which are heretical and not in line with the original Christian teachings.
