Prayer for UBC Waco

For those of you acquainted with Waco, TX in any way, particularly the church scene, you may have heard of University Baptist Church, home to David Crowder and a thriving arts community. The pastor, Kyle Lake, friend to many in town, and gifted pastor, was electrocuted this morning during worship as he prepared to administer baptism. Standing in the water, a microphone fell over into the water. I ask that as you read this, you remember his family in prayer. He leaves behind a wife and three children under the age of 4.

While I was not among his congregants, many of my friends here are. The shockwaves through Waco are only beginning to ripple as they will in the months to come.

Thanks for your prayers for this community as it grieves and struggles to come to grips with this tragedy.
